What is DiSC®
The DiSC behavioural model is the most widely used tool for understanding human behaviour, rather than measuring personality.
Because DiSC profiles describe behavioural style, they are ideal tools for the work environment. While measuring a person's personality type can be helpful, we can't really ask that person to change their personality. It is appropriate, however, for an organisation to ask people to adapt their behaviour to become more effective in the work environment.
The most important thing to know about any tool you use to profile your employees is that it is valid and reliable. For that reason, Intégro exclusively uses instruments developed by Inscape Publishing, Inc. The Inscape profiles are the most valid and reliable DiSC products on the market that produce accurate DiSC profiles. Inscape is at the forefront of research and development in the application of behavioural sciences in the workplace, and has published validation reports for all of its profiles.
How does the DiSC model increase adaptability?
- Managers and leaders become more adaptable when they understand the impact of their behaviour on the work environment, and the impact that environment has on employee engagement, commitment and productivity. Through DiSC profiles, they learn to adapt the way they communicate and relate to the different motivational needs of the people they work with.
- Sales and customer service professionals learn to build stronger relationships with customers and prospects when they understand their different needs. They learn to adapt their behaviour and the way they communicate to build relationships based on trust.
- Teams become more effective when team members understand that a successful team harnesses a variety of strengths that different people bring to the team. DiSC improves communication between team members, reduces conflict and helps team members understand and value each other’s talents.
